Meet Hayley!

We're excited to introduce CME's newest key player: Hayley Corfield, our dynamic and versatile Account Manager.

Hayley joined us in February 2024 and has quickly become a vital part of our team, bringing with her a wealth of experience and passion for building strong client relationships. Here, she talks about her diverse career and what made her choose a role in marketing.

From business graduate to expert marketer

Hayley’s route into marketing wasn’t a straight path, but rather a journey of opportunity. After gaining a business and management degree from the University of Wolverhampton, Hayley joined carpet manufacturer Brintons. There, she initially worked in distribution servicing, ensuring all the stores were equipped with the necessary marketing materials.

“I didn’t intentionally set out to work in marketing,” Hayley explains. “But a category role came up, which I took. This led to a secondment into marketing. Brintons was very supportive and paid for me to do a diploma and certificate with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.”

From there, Hayley’s career in marketing took off, leading to roles at Apley Estate and a marketing company and working as an independent marketing consultant. This broad experience has given her a well-rounded perspective of both in-house and agency-side marketing that she now brings to CME.

A perfect match with CME

Hayley’s move to CME was a natural progression. At Apley Estates, she successfully defined and grew the brand and established a strong market presence for the company. Her work didn’t go unnoticed, and it wasn’t long before CME’s Managing Director, Sarah Reay approached her with an exciting opportunity, leading to Hayley joining CME. What attracted her to our company was the variety of businesses we work with, offering her a chance to apply her diverse skill set in new and challenging ways.

As an Account Manager working with three of our clients, Hayley’s days are as varied as they are busy. “No two days are the same,” says Hayley. “Generally, I act as a liaison between the client and CME’s different service areas. This includes making sure schedules are on track, monitoring social media, responding to posts and comments, and liaising with the trade press.” It’s a role that requires a delicate balance of organisation, communication and creativity – skills Hayley has expertly developed throughout her career.

A people person at heart

What stands out about Hayley is her genuine enthusiasm for working with people.

“I’m a people person,” says Hayley with a smile. “I enjoy working with all the different people, from clients to copywriters to web designers, so building relationships with them is really important to me. Trust is key, especially when juggling many different tasks.”

Bringing valuable skills to the table

Hayley's diverse experience has equipped her with unique skills that benefit both CME and our clients. “I think my social media advertising experience is a huge benefit, and this is something we can now offer our clients,” explains Hayley. “Also, my experience with events. I love organising. I Set up a massive Christmas event when I was at Apley’s, which I loved doing.”

Beyond the office

Hayley is deeply involved in her local community outside of her professional life. She is the fundraising lead for the local Spartan Football Club, a grassroots club with 27 teams, ranging from under-6s to adult and accessibility teams.

"I joined two years ago as my son was playing football for one of the teams," explains Hayley. "Now, both of my children are involved, and I'm responsible for organising events. I started with a Halloween party, and now we have five events I'm responsible for throughout the year."
